This chapter turns the chess board into a way of reading a business. It opens with the goal of the game, check and checkmate, and with whose problems a business exists to solve: the customer's. Then come the basic rules and the board, where the center is your main niche and holding territory means market share.

Then each piece becomes a part of the business. The pawns are the base, the daily work that advances one square at a time and can still be promoted. The bishops are the messengers, the communication that moves on the diagonal. The knights are the shortcuts to growth, the only piece that jumps over the others. The rooks are the financial pillars, heavy and straight. The queen is the brand, the piece with the most range and the one you cannot afford to lose cheaply. The king is the business itself: protect it or the game ends.

What is inside - Learn to think like a player - The basic rules of the game - What we learned so far

The chapter carries interactive boards: each piece appears on its own board, moves through the universal moves and lets you repeat the move yourself.

The path

First the book, then the workshop

Encontre um MEIo explains the method: plan, price and sell. The workshop puts it to work in four hours, with the three tools. Whoever goes through both gets much more out of Marcas da Empatia, which comes next.
